When it comes time to get a new iPhone, you want to transfer as much data from your old iPhone to your new device. There are many ways for you to accomplish this, from transferring data via ICOND to a more rigid connection via iTunes.
How to use an automatic setup with your phone
- Closely select your language on your new iPhone or IPAD with your new and recent devices.
- Tap Continue to pop up on your iPhone or IPAD, indicating that you have configured your new iPhone or IPAD with your Apple ID.
- Use your existing iPhone or IPAD to scan the image that appears on your new iPhone or IPAD.
- Enter the passcode of your current iPhone or IPAD on your new iPhone or IPAD.
- Set up a Touch ID or Face ID on your new iPhone.
- Choose whether or not to restore your new iPhone or IPADfrom your recent synced backup – if this option offers itself.
- Choose to restore your new device from iCloud or iTunes backup, set up as a new iPhone or IPAD, or transfer data from an Android device.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Continue under Express Settings to use Seri layout Tap Keep, Find My iPhone, Location, and usage analytics that have been transferred from your current IPHONE and IPAD.
- Complete the setup process for your new iPhone or IPAD as you normally would.
How to transfer your data to your new phone using iCloud
- Open Settings on your old iPhone.
- Tap the Apple ID banner.
- Tap iCloud.
- Tap iCloud Backup.
- Tap on Backup now.
- Turn off your old iPhone after the backup is finished.
- Remove the SIM card from your old iPhone or if you are going to transfer it to your new card.
Wait for the backup to complete before proceeding.
Now you can put your old iPhone aside. Make sure your new phone is turned off when you start this next step.
- Insert your old SIM card into your new iPhone if you want to transfer it between devices.
- Turn on your new iPhone.
- Slide or press the Home button depending on which device you are configuring.
- Follow the instructions to choose your language and configure your Wi-Fi network.
- Tap Restore from iCloud Backup.
- Sign in to your iCloud account (this is your Apple ID)
- Tap Next.
- Tap Agree.
- Tap on Consensus again.
- Select what you just backed up.
How to transfer your data to Mac OS Catalina on your new iPhone
- Plug your old iPhone into the Mac OS Catalina running your Mac.
- Click the Finder iPhone in the dock to open a new Finder window.
- Click your phone under Places.
- Click Trust if you have been asked to trust your phone.
- Click the checkbox for encrypted local backup.
- If you need to set up an encrypted backup for the first time, create a password.
- Click Backup Now.
- Leave backup apps if asked. (They will download again anyway.)
- When done, unplug your old iPhone.
- Turn off your old phone.
- Remove your SIM phone from your old iPhone. (If you do not have a new or separate SIM card for your new phone.)
Wait for the backup to complete before proceeding.
- Put your SIM phone on your new iPhone. (If it does not come with a new or different SIM card.)
- Turn on your new iPhone.
- Plug your new phone into your Mac.
- Slide to set up on your iPhone.
- Follow the instructions to choose your language and configure your Wi-Fi network.
- Choose recovery from Mac or PC.
- In the Finder window, under Places, click new iPhone.
- In Finder on your Mac, click the Next button to restore from this backup
- Select your recent backup from the drop-down list.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your password and click Restore if your backup was encrypted and the Finder asks.
